computers run our life
So I'm pretty disappointed in our dependency on technology. An example? I'm trying to write the paper for class that is due tomorrow, and the rubric for it will now download to my computer. I'm fairly good with computers, and have searched throughout it for the rubric and it just isn't saving to my computer, and I'm not sure why. So where does this leave me? Writing a paper without knowing what it's supposed to be like, and it's rather annoying. I'm not sure where we will be technology-wise ten years from now, but hopefully if the world turns to computers to basically live, situations like this won't arise, because everyone will be in trouble.

I almost had the same problem. For my online class, I was suppose to watch a movie. It would not open at all. No matter what program i used. Then i found out that i would be having an quiz on it. I was stressing out. Finally i brought it to IT, took them an hour to figure out what was wrong, but eventually was able to take my quiz. :)
ReplyDeleteI've had similar technical difficulties. At some point, I just say that enough is enough. In-class lectures are much better, because you have the teacher right there to help you understand material when you're lost, and teachers never malfunction. They may miscommunicate or be wrong with their answers, but they don't just malfunction...
ReplyDeleteI think the good news is that as people find these quirks with technology more and more often, people are working to solve the quirks. Fixing technology is at times a lot easier to do than trying to have a conversation with a teacher who is just not getting what you're saying.
